Company Introduction: ASCO, a privately owned and independent Belgian company, began operations as a private subcontractor in 1954. The aeronautics division started in 1979 and is currently the only group activity. Today ASCO Industries is engaged in a broad range of development, engineering, manufacturing and assembly activities providing multidisciplinary subcontracting services to various markets and aerospace programs around the world.

Position Summary

Purpose of the Job This position is responsible for Quality support of the various facility departments in the development, implementation and follow-up of root cause corrective action on products and processes, facilitating root cause analysis and corrective action teams, leading and performing problem solving and continuous improvement actions.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the investigating and processing of non-conformities to determine exact root cause and assigns corrective action required and implements follow-up plan to verify correction is in place and effective.
  • Serve as an issue resolution focal point that works with engineering, quality and operations to drive continuous improvement in products and processes to meet the requirements for internal and external auditing.
  • Responsible to implement and maintain quality systems requirements, perform audits and drive corrective actions, including operator self-verification.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
  • Partner with Quality Systems personnel and responsible to drive continuous improvement on effective root cause corrective action.
  • Apply technical/compliance information to guide and influence root cause corrective action
  • Responsible for assigned root cause corrective action and will act as lead
  • Interface with management and peers to assess and improve the adequacy of the processes
  • Develop and deliver root cause analysis training as required to ensure the appropriate level of the process knowledge is maintained
  • Ensure effective data analysis and investigation, and evaluate their trending and develop improvement plans.

Required Education: Education: 4-yr bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferred. Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace or other relevant discipline, preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience preferred, preferably in aerospace quality
  • Minimum of 3 years Quality Control, QA inspector or relevant experience required
  • Experience with internal auditing, scrap reduction, and root cause analysis (Prior experience as an auditor, preferred)
  • Blueprint reading, text specifications (dimensional, tolerance, hardness, NDT, chemical analysis, …) as required for the specific function
  • Thorough knowledge and use of all measuring, test and control equipment, installation and techniques
  • Geometric, Dimensioning & Tolerancing knowledge required
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to train others
  • Experience communicating quality standards and issues with customers, ensuring a positive and professional relationship is maintained
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, preferred
  • Working knowledge of root cause analysis tools and/or equivalent quality training required
  • Ability to process and communicate information using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel & Powerpoint) and an email system equivalent to Outlook.
  • Ability to lead teams or projects achieving desired results on schedule
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in English required
  • Experience with Nadcap, ISO, and AS standards, preferred
  • Must be detail oriented and possess technical manufacturing capabilities/knowledge
  • Must be currently eligible/authorized to work in the United States.
