Position Summary

 

Purpose of the Job

 

This position performs verification of product and processes against specifications, instructions and procedures at all stages of production and is expected to lead problem solving and improvement efforts across all processes.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Operates equipment and tools (including CMM) required to perform quality verifications.
  • Assists and monitors operators in the execution of their processes and product compliance verifications.
  • Performs first article examination as required, validates processes through statistical sampling and other measuring techniques to ensure conformity to customer requirements and quality controls.
  • Accurately document and report results from testing, problem solving efforts, verifications, etc.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Specialist in measurement, problem solving, measuring parts for first time qualification, final verification, and works with Manufacturing Engineers and Supervisors, to solve quality issues.
  • Use of various measuring devices typically used for quality verification.
  • Contribute in 5S and Lean manufacturing processes, including Kaizen (continuous improvement).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management as part of cross-training or cross functional responsibilities. 
  • Work in a safe manner following safety guidelines and policies
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following Asco guidelines
  • Potential for travel – domestic and/or international

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;  Associates Degree, a Plus

 

Experience:

  • 3 years or more manufacturing quality experience
  • In process, First Article, and Final Verification experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with CMM preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and be able to be trained to use a variety of Measuring and Test equipment.
  • Experience using quality measurement tools.
  • GD&T knowledge and understanding is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Very good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment and be willing to accommodate flexible working schedules, including shift work.
  • Must be able to demonstrate safe practices and follow safety guidelines.
  • Work under minimal supervision while handling multiple job requirements.
  • Be able to regularly handle items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Good manual dexterity with the ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time in a repetitive manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in a cross training and cross functioning team environment.
  • Pass visual and physical exams if required.
  • Must be able to travel domestic and internationally, especially during initial project start-up.
  • Must be currently eligible/authorized to work in the United States.
